"The mark-making left behind in urban societies always intrigues me—traces of past moments, now fragmented and mysterious, hinting at what once was. I view landscapes not just as depictions of nature but as anything that exists beyond domesticity. In this sense, the ceramics included in this exhibition serve as an extension of my landscape paintings, embodying the same themes of transience and permanence. Like many of the works in this exhibition that are metaphorical, the title is drawn from a historical phenomenon rooted in Islamic belief—the moment when the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) performed the miracle of splitting the moon, a divine sign of his prophethood. This event, both celestial and symbolic, mirrors my fascination with the marks and remnants left behind in time, whether on city walls or in the landscapes I create."
