Magpie carries an event listing for Fellow Travellers, the group exhibition curated by Professor Omar Kholeif that opened at Tabari on 8 October 2026. The show is on the Podium Level of Gate Village, Building 3, in DIFC, Dubai.
Fellow Travellers was conceived by Kholeif, an artist, author and cultural historian, and draws on nearly two decades of their research, writing and relationships with artists. It brings together Sonia Balassanian, Jai Chuhan, Luísa Correia Pereira, Lalitha Lajmi and Irene Scheinmann with Kholeif's own paintings, shown under their own name for the first time. Landmark and rarely seen works are hung together around ideas of movement, kinship and memory, and the exhibition is accompanied by a limited-edition publication with original poetry and a curatorial essay.
For Tabari, the exhibition is the gallery's main presentation of the autumn at DIFC, and it includes Irene Scheinmann, an artist the gallery represents. Kholeif describes the project as a form of dreamwork, a social imagination that protects aesthetic cultures from the margins of history. The Fellow Travellers exhibition page on the Tabari site has the checklist and installation views.
