This work expresses Hashel’s profound relationship with his family, and the district of Al Maqam, in Al Ain in the UAE
where he grew up. A major landmark of Al Maqam, a district of Al Ain, is the Tawam Roundabout, distinguished by its monumental sculptures of horses. In Hashel’s composition, a horse rears up against a bright red sky, the brilliant colour evoking the sunsets of Al Ain.
