For Art Dubai, Tabari Artspace presents a multi-artist booth uniting a curation of women artists from the MENA region. This collective endeavour foregrounds the intertwined concepts of the body and the land, presenting a curated selection of works across various artistic disciplines, including tapestry, textiles, paint on canvas, and installation.
Selected artists—Chafa Ghaddar, Tagreed Darghouth, Hana Almilli, Miramar Al Nayyar, Aya Haidar, Maitha Abdalla, Samah Shihadi and Alymamah Rashed—contribute to the creation of an immersive environment. This setting serves as a platform to provoke contemplation on the intricate relationship between the human body and the land it inhabits explored through the female gaze.
Within this immersive space, the selected artists engage with a spectrum of topics that resonate with their particular practices. These encompass psychological enquiries, the articulation of the body as a landscape, the contemporary status of women, societal conflicts, as well as human appreciation and degradation of natural resources.
