MOJEH previewed Alymamah Rashed's commission for Piaget ahead of Art Dubai 2025, timed to the fair's 18 to 20 April run at Madinat Jumeirah. The piece introduces the Kuwaiti artist's collaboration with the Swiss watchmaker, built around a large-scale painting made specifically for the brand's presentation at the fair.
The resulting work, Your Love Moves Around My Trapeze Sun, takes the trapeze-shaped case of Piaget's Sixties-era jewellery watches and turns it into a golden sun encircled by Rashed's signature fluid, embracing figures. She worked in lapis pigment, gold leaf, mica and oil paint to echo the lustre of the brand's gemstones, and the piece carries her recurring motif of the eye, which she describes as an entry point that lets viewers read the composition on their own terms regardless of the work's underlying narrative. MOJEH traces her interest in shape and metamorphosis back to a childhood spent drawing and inventing stories with her father, and to formal training begun in New York at seventeen.
The commission places Rashed's practice, developed through her Tabari Artspace representation, in front of a luxury audience during the region's busiest fair week, extending a run of brand collaborations that also included Piaget's earlier Play of Shapes exhibition and complementary press elsewhere that season.
