Artsy included Tabari Artspace among the ten booths singled out in its editorial round-up of the inaugural Art Basel Qatar, published on 4 February 2026 under the byline of Arun Kakar. The piece looked at the fair's opening days in Doha, held from 3 to 7 February 2026, and picked out the Dubai gallery's solo presentation of Palestinian artist Hazem Harb as one of its highlights.
At booth M307, mosaic tile fragments recovered from the former Palestinian airport lined one wall, scanned by Harb into large prints in a method the article likened to archaeological documentation. Displayed alongside were works from his Reformulated Archaeology series, in which archival photographs of Palestinian landscapes, anatomical forms and artefacts are combined with flat coloured shapes, a device the piece described as showing how histories and locations can be moved and reclassified.
The presentation continues Hazem Harb's sustained use of salvaged and archival material to question who controls Palestinian historical memory, a concern that also runs through his earlier series Temporary Museum. It formed part of Tabari Artspace at Art Basel Qatar 2026, the gallery's debut appearance at the new fair, where Harb's archaeological framing of loss and displacement drew particular notice from visiting critics.
