In The Mist is an expressive work produced as part of the Pulse series. This body of work was an attempt to feel my pulse once more in a moment of bereavement. The piece approaches Jebel Hafeet through the lens of gender, the curvature of the mountain is a nod towards the feminine form while the palette is also soft and calming. At the foot of the mountain splashes of water from Jebel Hafeet’s hot springs dart up. The title of this work also references the feeling of ‘being in the mist’ and the mental fog that I had following the loss of my father.
